Meet your tutor – Alex Parsons

The Musician
Alex began his musical career at the age of four and has amassed an impressive and diverse collection of musical styles, citing influences ranging from John Cage’s ‘Cheap Imitation’ for solo violin through to work of electronic artists Lexaunculpt and Laurent Garnier.

In late 2004, Alex completed his study of composition at Masters level at Goldsmiths College, University of London (where he also passed his BMus degree in music with Honours). He also possesses Grade 8 Distinctions in violin, saxophone and singing, with previous performing experience on British television and across the globe in countries as far afield as Kuwait, South Africa and Australia.

The DJ/Producer
Known for his solo releases on Brique Rouge, Aciitone and Urbantorque as well as his collaborations with Trent Anthony under the project name of Agent Toga (with releases and remixes on Wow, Aciitone and Brique Rouge), Alex has a loyal underground following in the Tech House and Techno scenes across the Globe.

Alex is currently working on a remix album for Dauman Music in LA, to include his re-workings of Aadesh feat. Akon’s ‘One For The World’ and Ellis One’s hit single ‘Shower Song’.

The Composer
Alex has composed music for a range of production companies including Channel 4, Mosaic Films, Raw Media, Teachers TV and Extreme Sports. Notable works include a score for Andrew Rawnsley’s Dispatches documentary ‘A Year Inside Number 10′ and theĀ Animated Minds series for Mosaic Films, which was awarded BAFTA and RTS awards.

Alex is also currently working on score to the new six-part Discovery Chanel series ‘Cowboys and Coyotes’, due to air in December of this year.
